Stiklestad - Trondheim
Overview
Viking king Olav Haraldson went ashore in Selånger and then crossed Medelpad and Jämtland on his journey back to Norway. He reached Stiklestad where he died in battle on July 29th 1030. He was canonised a year after his death and his image can be seen in the church of Frösön. He is buried in the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, which early became an important destination for Christian pilgrims. On this pilgrim experience you walk from Stiklestad where Olav died to Nidaros Cathedral where he was buried.
The route St. Olavsleden stretches 570 km from the Baltic sea to the Norwegian sea. The Stiklestad - Trondheim stretch is the last 128 km on the route and since you do hike the minimum of 100 km you will be rewarded with a pilgrim letter in Trondheim.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY?
"Hi Sofie, I just had to take a minute to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip. It was an amazing adventure, everything and more that I dared hope for and every bit as hard that I worried about. We can't stop talking about it. There are so many special places and people from each day. I have a hard time expressing my feelings about it. I guess that may be the pilgrimage part, or the beauty of your people and countryside. I just loved it all. Thank you for this trip!"

"Jeg har hatt en helt fantastisk slitetur på Olavsleden fra Stiklestad til Trondheim. Noen steder var det dårlig merking og på noen etapper mangel på noe å sette seg på for å spise nisten. Jeg kom fram til Trondheim med en god mestringsfølelse, og ville ikke hvert turen foruten."
“I had a fantastick hike on St Olavs trail from Stiklestad to Trondheim. On some parts there were a lack of signs and a I missed a place to sit down on to eat my lunch pack on a couple of stages. I arrived to Trondheim with a sense of accomplishment and had not wanted the trip undone.”
Karin, Norway
